 ABSTRACT
The study examined the impact of soil erosion on the landscape area of Ekpoma in Esan West Local Government Area, Edo State, Nigeria. Specifically, the study sought to identify the types of erosion in the area, examine the effects of soil erosion on the inhabitants in the study area, investigate the socio-economic impact of soil erosion on the environment and examine the health implications of the people living around the physical environment. The study revealed that soil erosion disturbs economic activities in the study area in the study area. It is thereby recommended that government should establish a special joint task force that will be charge with the function of creating drainages. In line with the construction process of these drainages, this construction project should be awarded to adequate and efficient construction agencies or companies e.g. staff construction company, Julius Berger etc so as to ensure and provide durable standard, and long lasting project, in order to meet the purpose of the project
