ABSTRACT
This study is a survey of challenges and opportunities of open science platforms for libary and information science students of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma in Edo State. The descriptive research design was adopted for the study. The sample consists of libary and information science students. The data was collected using a structured survey questionnaire administered to professional and para-professionals librarians online. A total of 127 library and information science respondents to questionnaire online participated in the study. Data collected were analyzed using frequency counts, percentages (%), mean and standard deviation (SD) to answer research questions. The results revealed that librarians had low awareness of the effects of open science platforms and they agreed on the opportunities of open science platforms in aiding them in their research and academic growth. They also acknowledged the challenges they face in regards to accesing and making use of open science platform. Based on the findings, it was therefore recommended among others that there should be proper awareness on open science platforms among libray and information science students in Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma in Edo State.
